Karnataka Chief Minister N Dharam Singh Friday night requested Governor T N Chaturvedi to fix an early date to enable him to seek a vote of confidence.

Dharam Singh told reporters after meeting the Governor that the date could be either Saturday or Sunday and they were ready to face the floor test.

He said he apprised the Governor of the proceedings in the house and told him that he was denied an opportunity by the Assembly Speaker to seek the confidence vote.

The Governor, Singh said, assured them that he would examine the issue and take a decision on Saturday.
