At least 55 people were killed and five injured, three of them critical, as a bus fell into a gorge at Saiganji village near Rajouri, 160 km north of Jammu, on Friday.
Police officials said the jam-packed bus, going from Darhal to Jammu, was on its way to Rajouri when the accident happened.
Senior police and district officials have rushed to the spot and those injured have been admitted to local hospitals.
