It is official now. The Bihar government would use force to evict former state Chief Minister Rabri Devi from the official 1, Anne Marg residence in a couple of days.

After the deadline for vacating the residence ended on Tuesday evening, the state government ordered District Magistrate of Patna B Rajendra and Senior Superintendent of Police Kundan Krishnan to forcibly evict the former chief minister and family.

Official sources said legal force might be adopted to forcibly evict them in a day or two.

Building Construction Minister Monazir Hasan said a competent authority of the department had written to the district officials to get the house forcibly evicted without any delay.

Hasan said no time-frame had been specified in the letter to the district authorities to execute the 'forcible eviction notice' served on them on December 13, last year. The government's move comes a day after Rabri said she was consulting astrologers to select an auspicious day to shift to her new residence.
