Two militants belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen were shot dead in an encounter in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir [Images] early Tuesday, official sources said in Jammu.
Atta Mohmmad and Mukhtair were killed in an encounter in Kancha Patri area of Gandho belt in Doda district early Tuesday morning, they said.
Security forces launched a search operation on specific information in Kancha Patri to track down a group of militants operating in the area and in the ensuing encounter the duo were killed, they said.
The forces have recovered two AK rifles, five magazines, six grenades, 231 rounds, one wireless set and some explosive material, sources added.
