It is a marital dispute settlement of a different kind.

A Lok Adalat in Chhattisgarh has directed a man to spend a fortnight each every month with his two wives after he expressed his inability to provide alimony.

The settlement took place with the consent of all parties at the court, conducted in Jashpur area of the state on Sunday.

Rashida Khatoon, wife of one Isahaq, had filed a plea in the court of Judicial Magistrate Dayaram Dayal, seeking maintenance from her husband who had allegedly remarried.

When the matter came up for hearing, Isahaq expressed his inability to pay Rs 1,500 per month since he was a mere labourer.

The plea was disposed of after Isahaq agreed to the petitioner's suggestion that he spend a fortnight with her every month.
