Bones in drugs: Lalu sees MNCs' hand

January 05, 2006 15:33 IST

Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad on Thursday came out in support of embattled yoga guru Ramdev saying that multinationals were after those who propagated the indigenous cause.

"MNCs are opposed to people like me and Ramdev. They are against those who propagate indigenous cause," Lalu told reporters in New Delhi.

Ramdev vs Karat: Who's right? Tell us

Ramdev is in the eye of a storm in the wake of allegations that animal and human parts were found in samples of herbal medicines prepared by his pharmacy.

Lalu said the samples should be tested to reveal the truth.

In a lighter vein, the Railway minsiter said that so long as herbal medicines added life to years, it hardly mattered whether it contained bones of 'manav ya danav (human beings or devils)'.
