February 24, 2006 18:57 IST

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday said he was looking forward to his meetings with President George W Bush, who is visiting India next week.

He also indicated that the ongoing negotiations between US Under Secretary of State Nicholas Burns and Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran covered some ground on the nuclear issue.

Asked if Burns' visit has been fruitful, Dr Singh said, "Yes, It has been fruitful."

He came to prepare for the US President's three-day-long visit beginning March 1.

On the visit, the Prime Minister told reporters, "I am looking forward to President Bush visiting India as an honoured guest of our country."
