Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee was on Thursday admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences following congestion in his chest.

Chatterjee, 77, who did not attend Parliament on Thursday, is suffering from cough, cold and congestion in chest.

When the Speaker went to AIIMS for a check-up, doctors advised him to get admitted so that some tests can be conducted on Friday morning, Parliament sources said.

Earlier on Thursday, some tests were carried out on him and all his parameters were found okay.
