In one of the most concerted campaign to tighten its grip on the tribal region, the Sangh Parivar plans to train chieftains and priests of 62 tribes of Orissa on protecting and strengthening their traditions.

The campaign, which will begin with the centenary birth celebration of second Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar to be held at Chakapad in Kandhamal district, will see all major Sangh leaders coming to Orissa, RSS sources in Bhubaneswar said.

At the inaugural ceremony of the year-long programme, RSS chief K S Sudarshan, Vishwa Hindu Parishad international president Ashok Singal, national president of Vanabasi Kalyan Ashram Jagdev Ram Oram and Shankaracharya of Govardhan Peeth at Puri Nischalananda Saraswati will address a gathering of over three lakh people being planned for the occasion, the sources said.

As per a detailed plan chalked out by the RSS, eight chariots will be taken out from eight districts and seven 'mahayagnas' will be conducted during the three-day inaugural ceremony to be held at Chakapad between April 8 to 10, the sources said.

The chariots have been dedicated to eight goddesses such as Bimla Rath from Puri, Chandi Rath from Cuttack, Biraja Rath from Jajpur, Tarini Rath from Ghatagaon, Samaleswari Rath from Sambalpur, Taratarini Rath from Ganjam, Pataneswari Rath from Patnarh and Manikeswari Rath from Malkanagiri.

In the run-up to the ceremony, the chariots would touch almost every tribal dominated district of the state. In the three day celebration, one-day will be dedicated to orientation of priests and chieftains of 119 sub-tribes and all backward classes.
