The desecration of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's statue at Kanpur continued to rock Rajya Sabha with the House adjourning twice on Monday.

As soon as the House met for the day, Bahujan Samaj Party members led by their leader Mayawati raised the issue and trooped into the well.

Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat said the Question Hour should not be disrupted.

He said nothing other than queries raised during Question Hour would go on record.

SP members also shouted slogans and as the din continued, Shekhawat adjourned the House for 20 minutes.

When the House met again, BSP members trooped into the well demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the matter.
