A Sikh delegation on Thursday held a demonstration in front of the district Central jail in Bharatpur following which they were allowed to meet the Sikh prisoner whose hair was allegedly cut by other inmates.

The delegation led by Jasvinder Gill was allowed to meet the Sikh prisoner Pratap Singh of Ganganagar, who is undergoing life imprisonment in a murder case, Jailer Badri Narain Meena said.

After meeting with the prisoner, the delegation told reporters outside the jail that the hair of the prisoner was clipped.

The delegation demanded seizure of the scissor used in cutting of the prisoner's hair and also the clipped hair.

Senior police officials are interrogating other inmates of the jail who claimed that Pratap Singh had cut his hair himself when his petition for parole was dismissed and request to shift to another jail was denied.
