Terming as unfortunate the Centre's decision to introduce a bill in Parliament providing for reservation in educational institutions, medicos who opposed the move have said that they would launch an agitation on Tuesday.

The medicos will gather at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar to protest the Union Cabinet decision to introduce a bill in the current session of Parliament.

"We will gather in huge numbers at Jantar Mantar to protest the government decision," Dr Arnab Pal of the AIIMS Resident Doctors' Association told PTI.

It is understood that the medicos are likely to march to the residence of Congress president Sonia Gandhi [Images] to present a memorandum denouncing the government decision.

Faculty Association of the Institute of Medical Sciences general secretary K K Handa also denounced the government move to introduce the bill proposing reservation in elite government institution.

Students from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi University, Indian Institute of Technology and other medical colleges are expected to participate in the protests.
