On Friday night, hundreds thronged a creek in Mumbai as word spread that the seawater in the area has turned sweet.

With most of those who tasted the murky water vouched that it had indeed turned sweet.

Samples of the water from the region has been sent for analysis and the results will be out on Saturday afternoon.
