Vajpayee's advice for Advani

Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee Wednesday advised senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader L K Advani and party President Rajnath Singh to expose the dangers of the United Progressive Alliance's appeasement policy towards minorities during the twin "Bharat Suraksha Yatra" beginning Thursday from Rajkot and Bhubaneshwar.

Advani and Singh had called at Vajpayee's residence Wednesday morning to seek his blessings before embarking on the yatras.

While wishing them all success, Vajpayee said they must caution the people about the drawbacks of the policy of minoritism, Besides they should also work for boosting the morale of the cadre during their yatras.

Jaswant singh, leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, BJP leaders Ananth Kumar, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Prakash Javadekar were among those present on the occasion.

While Advani will begin his yatra from Rajkot in Gujarat, Singh would do so from Bhubaneshwar in Orissa. Former BJP President M Venkaiah Naidu who is the convener of the yatras, would flag off Singh's yatra.

Talking to newspersons later, Rajnath Singh said Vajpayee had blessed them for the success of the yatras.

Asked if Vajpayee would join the yatras at some point, he said several senior BJP leaders would participate but their programmes were yet to be finalised.
