Patna High Court on Friday  directed Bihar Director General of Police A R Sinha to produce abducted school student Gaurav Kumar alias Golu before it by October 4.

The Court observed that protectors of the law had 'failed miserably' in preventing abductions, which was "unfortunate, dangerous and unhealthy."

Earlier, taking suo moto notice of Golu's abduction, the court had directed the state administration to recover Golu and present him before the court by 10:30 am on Friday. But police failed to meet the deadline.

Golu was abducted last week by unidentified criminals when he was returning home from his school.

Meanwhile, a delegation of students from different schools called on Bihar Governor Buta Singh at Raj Bhavan and demanded the Governor to take the initiative to secure the early rescue of Golu.
