An absconder and former Rashtriya Janata Dal member of legislative asembly, Rajendra Prasad Yadav's name was deleted from the voter list in Bihar's Gaya district, official sources said.

Yadav was the RJD MLA in the dissolved Bihar assembly from Atri assembly constituency. He has won twice earlier from the seat.

Sources in the district administration said Yadav's name was deleted as per the Election Commission order to delete names of all those absconders, against whom arrest warrants are pending for over six months.

After deletion of Yadav's name from the voters' list, he cannot contest the coming assembly polls. Yadav and his son are wanted in connection with a murder in Dariapur village, Gaya district, on February 28, the police said.
