Infiltration bid foiled, three militants killed in J-K

Army troops on Wednesday foiled an infiltration bid along Line of Control and shot dead three Pakistani militants in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir [Images], official sources said.

Acting on a tip off, army troops set up ambushes near the LoC in Shahpur area of Poonch district early on Wednesday, they told PTI.

Around 0500 hours militants entered into Indian territory and the alert troops challenged them. In the ensuing gunbattle, three Pakistani militants were killed, they said.

Three AK rifles, three radio sets, three mobile phones, 11 magazines, 13 grenades, five improvised explosive devices, and a large quantity of other explosive material were recovered from them, they said.
