Undertrial set afire by prisoner

In a shocking incident an undertrial prisoner, Shyamdeo Yadav, lodged in Jehanabad district jail in Bihar was burnt by another undertrial prisoner, Ramji Chaudhary, jail officials said on Monday.

Police officials said Shyamdeo Yadav was admittedto Patna Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition on Sunday night and he issaid to be fighting for his life.

Police sources said Shyamdeo Yadav was carrying a lantern, which accidentally fell on the ground and broke. When he was trying topick upthe damaged lantern, Ramji Chaudhary intentionally threw a burning matchstick on the ground, ignitingkerosene oil thatspread on toShyamdeo's clothes.

"Shyamdeo has over70 percent burns," said a police official.
