Nasik: No loudspeakers for azaan

Respecting theSupreme Court guidelines, imams and moulavis in Nasikhave taken a unanimous decision to stop the use of loudspeaker for theazaan, the call to prayer.

This was decided ata meetingheld on Sundayby senior police officers and Muslim leaders of different mosques.

The leaders said the Supreme Court decision on banning use of loudspeaker should be followed. Since there is no rule of using loudspeaker forazaan, this decision will not be a violation of the shariyat.

The Supreme Court has banned the use of loudspeakers between 10 pmand 6 am to prevent noise pollution.
