Gaya DM removed by Election Commission

Gaya District Magistrate Chaitanya Prasad has been removed on the order of Chief Election Commissioner B B Tandon, official sources saidon Friday.

Thesources saidPrasad was removed following Tandon's reported displeasure over poll-preparedness in the district during his visit to Gaya on Wednesday. Begusarai District Magistrate Sandeep Poundrik has replaced Prasad, according to a notification issued by the personnel department.

Prasad is the fourthdistrict magistrateto be removed after the Election Commission reported displeasure over poor performance of poll preparedness in Bihar in the lastfortnight.

Last month threedistrict magistrates of Nalanda, Khagaria and Sheohar were removedon the order of EC.
