Mumbai drugs case: Bail for Provogue owner

A Mumbai sessions court Tuesday granted bail to Provogue apparel owner Salil Chaturvedi who was arrested on charges of possessing cocaine.

He was released on a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and asked to appear before investigating agency at regular intervals.

Police had yesterday filed a chargesheet against Chaturvedi and eight others.

All were charged under Section 8 of Narcotics Drug and Psycotropic Substance Act (production, transportation and dealing in narcotics drugs).

Chaturvedi faces minimum ten years of rigorous imprisonment if convicted under the NDPS Act.

Chaturvedi, who was arrested on August 3 on charges of possessing cocaine at his home and conspiring to supply drugs, had urged for bail contending that investigations in this case was over and the police had filed the chargesheet.
