Defamation case against Imrana filed

A lower court also rejected Mohammed's bail application on June 27. Imrana, a 28-year-old mother of five, accused her father-in-law of raping her.

The case had hit the headlines when a local community panchayat passed a verdict asking Imrana to treat her husband as her son and banning her from living with him following the alleged rape. Police have already filed a chargesheet against Mohammed, who is in judicial custody.
