Telangana Rashtra Samithi has chalked out plans to form an apolitical outfit comprising a band of volunteers as part of the movement for a separate state.

Opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh expressed concern over the martial arts training proposed to be given to the volunteers, saying it could lead to law and order problems.

Christened 'Telangana Jagarana Sena', the outfit would work parallel with the party and strive for the formation of separate state. After achieving that aim, it would work for the "reconstruction of the new state," TRS chief and Union Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao said.

"The activists of the Sena would be given training in yoga, karra saamu (a native martial art for self-defence using a stave) and other karate like martial arts," Rao said.

"In the first phase, 605 selected 'Preraks' (motivators) will get training in Hyderabad. A particular region would be divided into six parts and each of these 605 'Preraks' will get charge of one such part," he said.
