The Bharatiya Janata Party said on Saturday that the Election Commission's decision to hold Assembly elections in Bihar in four phases would cause 'fatigue', but expressed hope that it would ensure poll-wise effective deployment of central paramilitary personnel in the state.

"It would be a stretched-out exercise for political parties and cause fatigue but it would be good if it could lead to effective movement of security force personnel and their deployment in every booth," general secretary and spokesman Arun Jaitley told reporters.

He said the poll panel should have taken into account the upcoming festival season, including Dussehra, Deepavali and Chhat while scheduling the elections in four phases.
