Even as troops made the border meeting camps for the divided families along the border in Jammu and Kashmir [Images] operational, Pakistan on Tuesday stopped setting up such camps on the other side, Indian officials said.

"Contrary to Indian's operational border camps for providing medical aid to the divided families on forward posts along LoC in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan stopped such work on their side," top army sources told PTI.

The Pakistan troops, which were engaged in the setting up of such camps at Kanch post in the Tetrinote belt of their side, stopped work and also uprooted the tents and other things and took them back, they said.

"The joint relief and rescue operations along LoC and meeting of divided families would now be decided on 29 October at External Affairs Ministry level," they said, adding therefore the commencement of operations have been stopped.

Indian army has already set up three medical and relief centres along the LoC at Kaman in Uri, Teetwal in Tangdhar and Chakan-da-Bagh in Poonch as per the decision of the ministry of External Affairs to benefit quake affected people living across the dividing line.

"We have completely set up this cross border meeting camp along the LoC in Poonch that includes 10-bed emergency hospital, 100 ward hospital, meeting place for dividing families, media centre and relief centre besides langurs at Chakan-da-Bagh belt of Poonch," an official said.
