Acknowledging that United States President George W Bush [Images] enjoys a "good" rapport with Indian premier Manmohan Singh [Images], US said their president would like to capitalise on that to strengthen India-US ties.

"The President has a good relationship with Prime Minister Singh and he looks forward to continuing to build upon that relationship," White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan told reporters on Monday.

Responding to a query on what Bush proposes to do to strengthen India-US ties, McClellan said that Washington has "great" relationship with New Delhi and it would work to strengthen this relationship.

"We have great relations with India and we will continue to work to strengthen those relations," he said.

On Sunday, US State Department deputy spokesman Adam Ereli said that the ongoing India-US dialogue was a sign of deepening relationship aimed at furthering the strategic partnership between the two countries.
