EC orders re-polling in 135 booths on Friday

The Election Commission on Thursday ordered repolling in 130 booths spread over 26 assembly constituencies in Bihar on Friday where polling was held in the first phase on October 18.

State election office sources told PTI that re-polling would be held in the highest number of 18 booths in Nabinagar, followed by Deo (14), Aurangabad and Obra (11 each), Chakai (10), Arwal (09), Nawada 08), Goh (07), Dehri, Rafiganj (6 each), Govindpur, Hisua, Katoria (4 each), Jhajha, Sahar (3 each), Piro (2), Ara, Sandesh, Bikramganj, Dinara, Sasaram, Kurtha, Warsaliganj, Rajauli, Amarpur and Mohania (1 each).

Sources said re-polling was necessitated by complaints of electoral malpractices and defects in electronic voting machines.
