Condemning the killing of Jammu and Kashmir [Images] Minister of State for Education Gulam Nabi Lone, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party asked the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government on Tuesday, to review its alleged 'soft' policies towards terrorists, separatists and naxalites.

"Not a single day has passed in the past 15 months when some or the other terrorist incident has not taken place. The soft policies of the Congress-led Central and state governments are responsible for this situation. Their policies are encouraging such anti-national and anti-social forces,"BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told PTI.

He also regretted that at a time when the entire country was dealing with the disaster caused by the devastating earthquake in Jammu and Kashmir, the terrorists were indulging in such acts of violence. "This shows that they don't care for any humanitarian values and simply want to vitiate the atmosphere in the state," he said.

Lone was killed when heavily armed militants attacked his house in the high-security Tulsibagh area in Srinagar [Images] on Tuesday morning. Two security personnel and a militant were also killed and a civilian injured in the attack.
