Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] called on President A P J Abdul Kalam at the Rashtrapati Bhavan [Images] in New Delhi, to discuss the developments in Bihar.

Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court had termed as 'unconstitutional' the dissolution of the newly elected state assembly in March 2005, by Governor Buta Singh.

The meeting between the Head of State and the Head of Government, was initiated by Singh, and lasted around 20 minutes.

According to Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson S M Khan, the impending expansion of the Union Cabinet did not come up for discussion.
