Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad on Friday welcomed the Supreme Court verdict giving a go ahead to the holding of assembly elections in Bihar but declined to comment on the apex court declaring the dissolution of the state assembly as "unconstitutional".

"It is our victory as the apex court has not ordered revival of the dissolved assembly and said the elections will be held as per the schedule," Lalu told reporters at Sikandra where he was electioneering.
He, however, refused to comment on the Supreme Court declaring the dissolution of the house based on recommendations of Governor Buta Singh as "unconstitutional."
"I will not speak anything about the role of the Governor in the episode," he said, adding that his party and its allies would return to power in the state with a thumping majority.
