Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Union minister Ravishanker Prasad, who survived an attempt on his life in Bihar, was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi on Friday.

Prasad, who was airlifted to Delhi from Patna, was accompanied by his sister, brother-in-law and Congress member Rajiv Shukla.

The BJP leader sustained gunshot injuries in his arm on Thursday when he was fired at from close at an election rally in Bihar's Rohtas district by a lone assailant. He had been later taken to a hospital in Patna where an X-ray revealed multiple fractures in his arm.
