President to visit UP, MP

President A P J Abdul Kalam will make a day-long visit to Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh on October 6.

According to a Rashtrapati Bhavan [Images] press release, Kalam will visit Allahabad on Thursday to inaugurate the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of the National Academy of Sciences, India. He will also interact with the city's school children.

Kalam will also visit Patni Village in Satna District of Madhya Pradesh to see the watershed model and meet with villagers.

The President will then go to Chitrakoot in Madhya Pradesh, where he will visit the Bovine Research & Development Centre, the Ayurveda Sadan, the Herbal Garden and an exhibition at Arogyadham.

This will be followed by a function at the Deendayal Research Institute and a visit to the Children Eye Care Centre. Dr. Kalam will also interact with school children and self-help groups there.
