Nearly 1,000 students of  the DAV school staged a protest march in Patna on Sunday against police failure to trace a student Gaurav Kumar alias Golu, who was abducted from their school, even 12 days after he was kidnapped.

During the proterst march, the school children holding placards demanded the release of Golu.

Earlier, DAV school organised a special prayer in the school premises invoking God blessings in tracing Gaurav and schoolchildren silently demonstrated outside the governor's residence at Raj Bhavan demanding his release.

Nine-year-old Gaurav, a student of Class IV of the DAV school, was abducted when he was walking home after getting off the school bus on September 20.

Last week, his abduction sparked protests in Patna by people who blocked roads and shouted slogans.

Only two days ago, the Patna high court had extended the deadline given to the police by four days for tracing the abducted boy.

Four days ago, Governor Buta Singh directed the police to intensify operations for the safe release of the schoolboy, but nothing has happened till date.
