Heads of the Pakistan caucus in the US House of Representatives Dan Burton on Tuesday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] and is understood to have discussed the recent Indo-US agreement for cooperation in civil nuclear energy.

Prime Minister's Office officials confirmed the meeting, but pleaded ignorance about the details of the discussions.

Burton, who has of late softened his stand against India, is here in connection with the India Economic Summit.

The US Congressman, who had once demanded that Washington cut off aid to India, expressed support for the nuclear deal on Monday, provided New Delhi went ahead with honouring its commitment for separation of its nuclear facilities for defence and civilian purposes.

Burton, who is heading a Congressional delegation, would leave for Pakistan later this week.
