PM congratulates Nitish Kumar

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] on Tuesday called Bihar chief ministerial candidate Nitish Kumar and congratulated him on the Janata Dal (United)-Bharatiya Janata Party combine's electoral victory and assured him of the Centre's support to the state.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, along with National Democratic Alliance convenor George Fernandes [Images], Kumar also made it clear that he was against any politics of confrontation.

"Dr Singh has congratulated me and assured Centre's full cooperation for Bihar under the new leadership," he said.
