Salem purportedly confesses November 21, 2005 20:00 IST Chief metropolitan magistrate at the Mumbai high court sent a communication purportedly containing confessional statement of extradited gangster Abu Salem to the special TADA court trying the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, sources said. The communication was sent in a sealed envelope that is likely to be opened on Tuesday, the sources said. According to Section 15 of TADA (P) Act, whenever an accused makes a confession before a CBI/Police officer of a particular rank he has to appear again before the chief metropolitan magistrate to confirm the statement made before the officer.
