EC orders repoll at two booths in Saran

The Election Commission on Sunday ordered repoll at two booths in Bihar's Saran district, following complaints of irregularities, election office sources said.

Repolling at booth number 66 and 128 of Marhaura assembly constituency will be held on Monday, the sources said. A total of 12 candidates are in the fray for the the seat with the main fight between Sheopujan Prasad Rai of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Jitendra Kumar Rai of Janata Dal (United) and Chulhan Prasad Singh of Communist Party of India.

Meanwhile, repolling was held on Sunday at two booths (234 and 235) of Sitamarhi assembly constituency, which reported a 46 per cent voter turnout. Election in Sitamarhi was orginally slated for November 13 but was deferred to November 16 along with 14 other constituencies, due to security reasons.

Counting would be taken up on November 23.
