Ranvir Sena, Bihar's upper caste militia that was at the receiving end of the daring Maoist operation in Jehanabad on Sunday, may target government establishments and railway offices, Bihar Home Secretary Hemchand Sirohi said on Saturday.

Sirohi said this in a confidential letter sent to all district magistrates and police superintendents.

In his letter, Sirohi also warned of a Ranvir Sena backlash on vulnerable Dalit villages.

Sirohi directed the district and police officials to keep a close watch on the villages, which may be targeted by Ranvir Sena.

The Ranvir Sena has never targeted government establishments since its inception in 1994.
