Kalam to inaugurate R K Laxman exhibition

President A P J Abdul Kalam would inaugurate an exhibition of the selected works of famous cartoonist R K Laxman during his brief visit to Jaipur on Thursday. The exhibition has been entitled "Best of Laxman". President Kalam had visited the residence of Laxman the cartoonist when he visit Mumbai last.

According to a press communique of Rashtrapati Bhavan [Images], President Kalam would visit the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisty in Ajmer and also attend the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Military school there.

He would later arrive in Jaipur on his route to Delhi in the afternoon where he would interact with the school students from various schools of the Pink city.

On Wednesday President Kalam listened to Gurbani at the Rashtrapati Bhavan to celebrate the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji, first Guru of the Sikhs.

Amongst others who attended the function included Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh [Images], his wife, chief of the armed forces General J J Singh and his wife.
