Minutes after taking oath as the tenth chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir [Images] on Wednesday, Ghulam [Images] Nabi Azad summoned an emergency meeting of his newly-constituted cabinet, official sources said.

The sources said soon after taking oath, Azad had tea with Governor Lieutenant General (Retired) S K Sinha and then summoned the emergency meeting of his cabinet.

The new cabinet is understood to have discussed the ongoing relief and rehabilitation measures in the earthquake-ravaged areas of the state.

The cabinet meet came as the Civil Secretariat and other related government offices are re-opening on November 7 as part of the annual 'darbar move' practice.

The portfolios of ministers will be announced soon.
