Allahabad High Court has come to the rescue of a married couple, whose family members were trying to keep them apart.

Lovers Nasir Khan and Ruchika, who converted to Islam, got married in November 2004. The couple was living in NOIDA, but in February this year Ruchika's parents took her back to their house in Meerut.

Subsequently, Nasir sought the High Court's help in getting his wife back.

"On Tuesday, Justice V K Chaturvedi ordered Ruchika to go and live with Nasir," Nasir's advocate, Kishan Mishra, said.

"He also directed that half of Nasir's property be transferred in Ruchika's name, fixing July 15 as the date when Nasir would have to present the relevant documents in court," he said.

"It is necessary to provide social and financial security to the girl in this matter," the judge was quoted as saying by Mishra.
