78 senior police officers transferred across Maharashtra

Maharashtra government on Sunday transferred 78 senior police officers all over the state.

"Twenty five officers of the inspector general level and 53 superintendents of police and deputy superintendents of police have been transferred," state Director General of Police, P S Pasricha, told PTI in Mumbai.

Among those transferred include Mumbai Joint Commissioner (Law and Order), Ahmed Javed, who has been transferred to the State Reserve Police Force as inspector general.

Javed will be replaced by Arup Patnaik.

Similarly, Joint Commissioner (Administration), P K Jain, has been transferred to Nanded, also as inspector general.
