Karnavati Express coach derails; no casualties

Passengers of the Mumbai-bound 2934 Karnavati Express had a providential escape when one of its coaches derailed on the Amalsad-Valsad section in Gujarat on Friday, railway officials said.

Coach C-5 of the train, which had 63 passengers, derailed near Billimora, railway officials said, adding that the cause of the derailment was yet to be ascertained.

No passenger was injured in the incident, they told PTI.

The Karnavati Express had left Ahmedabad station at 06 IST  -- two hours behind schedule.
