A 32-year bargirl was allegedly raped while she was returning home from work at Antop Hill in north-east Mumbai on Wednesday.

All the three accused, who were arrested soon after the incident on Wednesday night, were remanded to police custody till May 26 by a local court on Thursday, the police said.

The woman, who was employed at Sai Plaza bar in suburban Andheri, was returning home in a taxi when the three men stopped the vehicle and dragged her out after assaulting the taxi-driver.

The victim was then carried to a nearby building where two of the accused allegedly raped her.

After the woman raised an alarm, a police patrol arrested one of the accused. The two others, who had fled, were arrested later.
