Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] on Tuesday left for India after a three-day visit to Russia [Images] during which he attended the grand parade commemorating the 60^th anniversary of victory of the Allied forces over Nazi Germany [Images] in World War II.

He also held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin [Images] on a gamut of bilateral issues.

Dr Singh also had the opportunity to interact briefly with United States President George W Bush [Images] on Monday during the luncheon hosted by Putin for leaders who attended the Victory Day celebrations.

The prime minister had brief exchanges of views with French President Jacques Chirac and German Chancellor Gerhard Shroeder.

During his one-to-one meeting with Putin on Monday, Dr Singh discussed bilateral issues, including energy, defence and space cooperation.

At a meeting lasting more than the scheduled 30 minutes, Putin expressed Moscow's [Images] willingness to look into issues of nuclear energy cooperation with India, including the supply of nuclear fuel for Tarapore Plant and new nuclear reactors.

Dr Singh expressed happiness and appreciated the support give by Russia for the Kudankulam nuclear power plant.

This was the second meeting between the two leaders in six months after Putin's visit to Delhi last December.
