A team of doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi informed the Supreme Court that Bahujan Samaj Party leader Kanshi Ram did not require hospitalisation, official sources said on Monday.

The team -- appointed by the Supreme Court to examine the health of the senior leader -- added that the leader is undergoing proper treatment at the residence of BSP chief Mayawati.

A Bench comprising N Santosh Hegde and Justice S B Sinha asked the counsel of Bishan Kaur, Kanshi Ram's mother, to go through the report and file the objections, if any within eight weeks.

The court had earlier, on a plea by Kanshi Ram's family members, ordered that 'the team of doctors would have to determine whether the line of treatment given to Kanshi Ram at home was appropriate and is it necessary for him to be treated in the hospital'.
