Actor Aman Verma filed a criminal complaint against India TV, alleging that the channel wanted to 'blackmail and extort money' from him.

"We have filed a criminal complaint against India TV CEO Rajat Sharma, programme manager Suhaib Ilyasi and journalist named Ruchi at Andheri court on Monday," Verma's lawyer Dipesh Mehta said.

Verma was caught on camera in the channel's 'sting operation' on the casting couch in Bollywood.

"The intention of the channel is to blackmail and extort money from Verma," Mehta alleged.

The next date of hearing in the case is on April 26, he said.
