Two Border Security Forces men were killed in a militant attack in Mathana in Rajouri district, some 120 km from Jammu late on Sunday night.

The militants fired indiscriminately at the BSF patrol around 10 pm on Sunday, police sources said.

Head constable Saroop Chand and lance naik Hoshiyar Singh died on the spot. Eight others were seriously injured and were shifted to hospital, the police said.

Reinforcements have been rushed to the area and efforts were being made to flush out the militants, the sources added.
