The Mumbai police on Thursday asked television news channel "India TV" asking it to refrain from airing the Shakti Kapoor expose.

Police sources said a notice was issued by the police's social service branch to the channel asking it not to air such "objectionable" material, failing which they would attract penal provisions.

The Shakti Kapoor episode had created a flutter in Bollywood with the actor denying the allegations and apologising to the film personalities whom he had allegedly implicated.
