Thane villagers lynch robber

A robber was lynched by a mob in Thane district, neighbouring Mumbai, early on Wednesday.

This is the third such incident this month.

Police said the robber was part of a gang that was trying to sneak into Hedutani village under Manpada area at around 0300 IST when they were attacked by the villagers.

Officials have rushed to the spot.

Three robbers were lynched to death in Agaashi village in the district, while a thief was attacked in nearby Arnala village in the first week of March.
